LIBERIA: Girl, 15, Admits ‘Prophet’ Is Her Baby’s Father

Flash Back: some members of a local prophet church on their regular church rally

A fifteen year-old girl who was allegedly kidnapped, trafficked and raped at the age of 12 by defendant Prophet Revival Wowo Sam has admitted that he  is the father of her child.

The victim indicated that at the age of 12 she was suffering from “a spiritual problem” and that her parents decided to take her to the defendant, Prophet Revival Womo Sam, for deliverance.

She told the Criminal Court ‘A’ in her testimony last weekend that she stayed with the prophet until she was 15 years old, and that during her stay she and the defendant got into a love affair.

Defendant Revival Womo Sam has been accused by the girl’s parents of allegedly trafficking, kidnapping and raping their daughter, for which he is currently facing trial at the Criminal Court “A” at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia.

The defendant had ‘prophesied’ to the victim’s mother that the Almighty God had given her daughter “divine destiny”, but that this destiny could be distracted and abused if the victim was not brought to him at his Ministry.

The victim’s mother consented and placed her into the care of defendant Pastor Sam for “spiritual cleansing,” but the parents later realized that he had changed the victim’s name to another name.

After sometime, they alleged that they had also noticed strange things and requested the girl return home, but the defendant refused and it was later discovered that the victim was already pregnant, and that the defendant had processed a passport so that they could travel to Nigeria.

The victim told the court that Prophet Sam had been “a caring father” to her, and that he paid her tuition and transportation to attend school every day, adding: “I was not treated badly, I was well taken care of by the Pastor.”

She further stated that the defendant did not force her to have sex with him or sexually abuse her, adding that the defendant was caring and nice to her even when they left for Nigeria and, when she gave birth to a baby girl that is now over one year old.

She pointed out that she “knew about life” before meeting the defendant, and that “he is not the one who taught me life.”

It can be recalled that the defendant was arrested in November 2018 in Nigeria where he had taken the victim.

Defendant Sam is the founder of the Global Revival Movement for Spiritual Environmental Church located in Dixville Community at which the victim and her parents are members.
