LIBERIA: Former House Speaker Under Investigation Again For US$1M Oil Reform Tour

Alex Tyler, former Speaker of the House of Representatives is said to be undergoing investigation for his alleged involvement in the ‘Misused’ of One Million United States Dollars from the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL) to carryout for a nationwide consultation in 2013 which began in Gbarnga, Bong County and extended to other part of the country.

The consultation was intended to take National Petroleum Reform Law to ordinary Liberians after it was passed by the Senate, and to bring together oil experts, members of the general public, and official of the Liberian government, including lawmakers to exchange ideas in order to find a way forward in making that the interest of the state was protected.

But the Ministry of Justice has vowed to investigate on how such amount was disbursed by the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL), and therefore, the former Speaker must come out and explain as how such amount in question was expanded.
