Former Bomi County superintendent Samuel Brown has urged graduates of the Liberia Cooperative Standard Education School System (LICOSESS) to remain focused on making the nation’s education sector better as they enter the classroom as teachers.
Brown told graduates of the LICOSESS Teachers Training Institute that as they leave the institution to go to the classroom they must uphold the ethics of the teaching profession in their respective classrooms.
The former Bomi County superintendent, who served as guest speaker at the graduation program held at the Sime Darby Central High School in Gbah Town, Bomi County recently, spoke on the theme: ‘A Teacher, An Agent For National Change’.
He said it is time for the government of Liberia to invest in training Liberian teachers and give them better salaries and incentives that will encourage them to provide quality education to students.
Also speaking at the program, the Executive Director of LICOSESS, Mr. Thomas Asare, commended the graduates, and pledged that the board of the institution will lend its fullest support to training more Liberian teachers for a better society.
Meanwhile, Mr. Asare is calling on national government to support the institution by buttressing its effort to train teachers.
