LIBERIA: Court Orders Police Chief, Patrick Sudue Arrested

The Civil Law Court “A” Judge has ordered the immediate arrest of Police Inspector General Patrick Sudue for refusing to appear for investigation over July 26 Counter-protest violence

Civil Law Court “A” Judge Nancy Sammy has ordered the arrest of Police IG Patrick Sudue, over his refusal to appear before the Independent National Commission on Human Rights and testify into ongoing investigation regarding the July 26 violent protest.

Judge Sammy, in her order, said Inspector Sudue should be made to appear before her and  show cause, if any, why he is refusing to appear before the Commission on Human Rights consistent with its mandate to protect and promote human rights.

The Circuit Court Judge noted that the Police IG must be made to clearly explain the role the LNP played during the violent Independence Day protest.
