Scores of Bong County citizens and residents have sharply reacted to the recent suspension of the county’s Superintendent, Esther Yamah Walker, by President George Manneh Weah.
President Weah suspended Superintendent Walker with immediate effect last week, pending investigation into allegations she made in a leaked audio which went viral on February 15.
She was advised to turn over all government properties in her possession.
But local radio talk shows opened the issue for public discussion via mobile phone on Saturday, February 16, polling citizens’ views that were mixed but largely in favour of the President’s administrative action.
A good number of callers said they were astonished about the secret recording bearing the voice of the Superintendent.
The recording, which is currently on social media, has been downloaded by many citizens and gone viral in the county.
Some callers said, it was improper for the superintendent to talk about the president in such a disparaging manner.
Many other callers were unhappy with the yet to be identified person who secretly recorded Madam Walker, noting that the act was betrayal at the highest.
Meanwhile, when contacted Saturday evening at the Gbarnga Administration Building, the Head of Secretariat in the office of suspended Superintendent, Mr. Zack E. Monger, told LINA that the only information he has about the Superintendent’s suspension is the one in the media.
He added that the Superintendent was in Monrovia for weekend.
