The North Korean leader Kim Jong Un appeared in public for the first time in 20 days amid speculations over his health, the North Korean state media reported.

The KCNA news agency reported that the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un appeared in public by cutting ribbon at the opening ceremony of a fertilizer factory.

The report further added that thousands cheered hurrah in the factory as the North Korean leader appeared on Friday.

The United States and South Korean intelligence services had earlier said they are skeptical of reports that the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has died following a surgery.

A South Korean media report had earlier said the North Korean leader had undergone a cardiovascular procedure on April 12 and was recuperating.
