In continuation of its humanitarian contribution amid the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus in Liberia which is sweeping human lives worldwide, I-Help Liberia Medical Team today, May 2, 2020, presented several bags of rice to the 2-Brother Garage in Sinkor, the suburb of Monrovia.
The 2-Brother Garage which is one of the oldest Liberian owned has been doing extremely well in training upcoming Liberians who want to become professional auto mechanics in the areas of maintenance, diagnostic testing, repairs, and inspections of small trucks and cars.
Making the presentation on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer of the I-Help Liberia Medical Team, Dr. Jonathan M. Harts who is in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on medical assignment, Dr. Gassimu Kaba who is also the Deputy CEO and acting, said the donation is the way of his institution in meeting the needs of Liberians during these difficult times, realizing the danger COVID-19 poses to the lives of people.
Dr. Kaba also recounted the role his institution hope to play in collaboration with the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) in helping to professionally tackle this deadly disease, adding, “This is our own way of helping NPHIL in the process of robustly fighting this virus.
Dr. Kaba was accompanied by a 6-man team, all of whom are medical doctors and students of the A.M. Dogliotti College of Medicine.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Mr. Kollie Ballah thanked the team for coming to their aid during these difficult times; making specific reference of Dr. Jonathan Hart who he said has been supporting their work over the years.
During the occasion, a member of the team, Dr. Rukiatu Sheriff Igono lectured employees of the Garage on the danger of COVID-19, and further informed them the importance of observing those rule that govern the eradication of the virus.
