Grand Kru County records additional confirmed cases of COVID-19, Lab Technician at the Dumu Numene Hospital Hit.

Last Thursday July 16, Grand Kru County recorded six new confirmed cases of the coronavirus in addition to the three confirmed cases reported in the county last week.
According to the Grand Kru County Health Officer, Dr. Sianna Jackson Mentoe, the team received additional Lab results from the National Reference Lab that led the county registering another two confirmed cases totaling six on July 16, 2020.
Dr. Mentoe informed this station that 32 samples were collected where all of health workers were counted as hard risk contacts after the lab technician came down with the virus in Sass town’s Dumu Numene Hospital.
She maintained that out of the 32 samples the County’ Health Team received 31results and out of the 31 results four were tested positive of coronavirus and five will undergo testing for the second times.
Dr. Mentoe said currently Grand Kru County has seven (7) active cases in treatment unit across the county.
in an exclusive interview with the County Health Officer, used the occasion to call on the citizens of Grand Kru County to be vigilant in observing the basic health protocols of the coronavirus pandemic which she indicated include, social distancing, the wearing of face masks and hand washing.
Dr. Siana Mentoe revealed that, the Grand kru county health system is seriously challenge in terms of providing regular means [food, money] for the current positive case and those contacts undergoing quarantine in the county.
