East Int’l Construction Proves Critics Wrong, As ELWA/RIA Road Construction Takes Shape
The East International Group, a Chinese owned Construction Company currently reconstructing the ELWA/RIA road is said to be making progress and winning the hearts of many Liberians for the progress being made in its professional services despite hullabaloo by its critics that this company was not performing to the expectation of Liberians.
For the last six months critics of the company’s success in its professional services were been hit with the intention of putting the company against the Liberian people who are the direct beneficiaries of the ongoing road construction leading to the nation’s international airport.
The last weekend tour of the construction works by our team of reporters saw a massive progress being made by employees of the company with heavy equipment including yellow machines carrying out the best in the reconstruction of the road as onlookers including road users were overwhelmed of the level of progress, lauding praises.
As a result of the level of works being done by this entity, Liberians including civil society groups and other stakeholders have begun to once more pouring praises on the ongoing works, including a lawmaker who drove on the road to the Roberts International Airport to see his family out of the country.
Speaking to the GNN, the lawmaker who begged for anonymity, said he was impressed of the level of progress been made on the road, noting, “I am out of words to see in the shortest period of the time the level of progress on this road, I will inform my colleagues about this progress”, the lawmaker said he earlier opposed the company in its continuous on the road work due to public outcry that it was not meeting the desire of the public.
Some Liberians who spoke to our reporter also argued that East International Group, a legally registered construction firm has what they called vast experience in road construction, and further said the Ministry of Public Works must always see reasons in utilizing its professional services due to its proven record of performance in road construction in and outside of Liberia.
According to information received by the GNN noted that when this road is completed it will be transformed to international standard to boost Liberia on the international scene.
