Deputy Speaker Expresses Sympathy To Families Of Those Who Were Involved In The Sunken Vessel
The Deputy Speaker of the 54th Legislature, Grand Kru County District two Representative, Hon. Cllr. J. Fonati Koffa, expresses sympathy and is deeply shocked and saddened of the tragic incident of a sunken cargo vessel, Niko Ivanka, of which at least seven (7) persons have gone missing since Sunday.
The Deputy Speaker said the devastation is regrettable and has expressed condolences, to the families of those who have not been found, to the injured and to all who have been affected by this terrible disaster.
The Deputy Speaker extends his thoughts and prayers to the victims of the grievous event.
The Deputy Speaker hailed the efforts of the Government spearheaded by the Liberia Maritime Authority (LMA) and the National Coast Guard of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) for the rescue of 12 passengers and looks forward to a speedy recovery process.
The Deputy Speaker further calls the Liberian Legislature to speedup appropriation for the development of infrastructure by land, sea and air for meaningful and safe passage to the Southeast of Liberia..
