Defeated Candidate Defends Acting NPA Boss
A defeated Representative candidate in the October 2017 Presidential and Representative Election has described as a “diabolical lie” recent publications by a local daily accusing the Acting Managing Director of the National Port Authority (NPA), Madam Celia Coffy-Brown for given herself undue powers.
It was recently reported in a local daily that Madam Cuffy-Brown, who is the Managing Director for Administration at the NPA, was giving power not vested in her by any statute and hiring additional staffs at the port.
But the former Lofa legislative candidate in person of Madam Sangay Moses, said the paper failed to outline the meaningful contributions and reforms Madam Cuffy-Brown has initiated at the NPA since taken over in a very short period of time.
According to Madam Moses, in less than a month of service, the Acting NPA boss has increased wages of laborers at the port to an appreciable level.
She noted that the NPA deputy boss has over the few months used her administrative skills to dialogue in working with both the Port Truckers Association and the Custom Brokers Association for smooth working relationship.
She then warned that impartial journalism should be the hallmark of the day, as Liberia gets on its new political journey of progress.
