Court Places Travel Ban On Several Gov’t Officials Who Are Allegedly Linked To Corruption
Amid mountain calls by Liberians to prosecute officials of the Liberian government have been ordered by the Monrovia City Court Judge Jomah S. Jallah not to leave the country for their alleged misapplication of funds belonging to the Liberian people.
The first on the list is the suspended Buchanan Port Managing Director, Charles Gull after a confession made by him for embezzling over $200K United States Dollars belonging to the port of Buchanan.
It can be recalled that the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), days ago lunched an investigation into financial mil-practice uncovered by the National Port Authority of lawful funds for port usage.
In a related development, the Court has also issued a travel ban on other officials including Bishop Alan Klayee (formerly – Liberia Airport Authority), Duwana Kanara (Suspended Water and Sewer Managing Director), George D. Yuoh (Suspended Chief Financial Officer – RIA) and Amara Kamara (Suspended Statistician –at the Buchanan Port).
According to the Monrovia City Court, the above individuals are to stay within the territorial space of Liberia until the LACC’s investigations are over
