The Commissioner of Doe Administrative District in Nimba has been accused of misappropriating funds provided by the Union of Nimba Citizens in the Americas (UNICO) to be used by the citizens of the district for development purposes.
According to our Nimba County Correspondent, the money in question is in the tune of Seventy Thousand Liberian Dollars and was received by Mr. Whyee, but did not give reasons as to what led to its misapplication.
When GNN quizzed him as to what actually happen to the money sent by UNICO, Whyee only explained that while on his way from Ganta his motorbike got spoil, this he said compelled him to spend Two Hundred Dollars of the money for repair purpose, but however promised to refund the money.
The Commissioner has at the same time been accused of abandoning the district compound and the commissioner office has been deserted with no Impact on the citizens, the Commissioner in his argument feel that his predecessor did not make any impact on the community so they should not expect him to fully change the dynamicsv of the leadership style of the statutory district.
