Citizens In Leeward Counties Applaud President Weah For Electricity Boost Nationwide
As our team of journalists drove to the southeastern County of Grand Kru, for the celebration of the World Press Freedom Day, scheduled for May 3, 2021 in Barclayville City, one situation that caught their attention was the revamping of Liberia’s broken-down electricity in most of the Country’s leeward Counties.
According to our staff, from the Liberian Capital, Monrovia to the southeastern part of the Country, modern iron electric poles were been erected alongside the route to Pleebo, Maryland County aimed electrifying the country in a modern way by the George Manneh Weah-led government, this gesture has been welcomed by nearly every Liberian who these journalists came across on their way to Barclayville City for the observing of the World Press Freedom Day.
Another impressive development that was also noticed by the journalist while on their way to Barclayville City was the renewed look of the Fish Town/Harper road, this massive developmental initiative by President Weah’s government has given hope to urban and rural Liberians who have expressed thanks and appreciation during exclusive interview with the GNN.
”First of all let me commend the President for his initiative to robustly bring light to our people; since the end of the nearly fifteen years bloody and senseless civil war which has destroyed our country’s infrastructural including the massive destruction of our power plant that gives electricity to us, now President Weah is doing all in his power to regain this spirit,” a resident of Fish Town, Rivergee County, Nathaniel Toe in a rather joyous mood told our staff.
On the issue of the improved road network in the County, a lady only identified as ‘Ma Mary’, speechlessly due to happiness, expressed thanks and appreciation to the Liberian leader for what she called, ‘His nationalistic value, and willingness to develop Liberia’, we are proud of him for everything he is doing,” Ma Mary in a chat with the GNN in Pleebo City, Maryland County said.
With this latest development nationwide, the Liberian leader must be applauded for his initiative, especially making sure that his citizens enjoy the benefits of their country’s wealth. We are overwhelmed of his quest to see our country improve to its best
