The Chief Administrator of the Bong County Health Team Jonah Tokpah has launched an appeal to the National Government through the County authority to increase the Heath Team budget from US two hundred thousand to at least five hundred thousand Dollars.
Speaking in an interview with this Paper on Tuesday, Mr. Tokpah said such increase will help the Heath Team to expand its activities, ensure the purchasing of additional ambulances and motorbikes.
Currently, the County Health Team has eight functional ambulances but Mr. Tokpah has stated that the number is small for the Liberia’s third populated County.
Mr. Tokpah stated that it is important for the County Health team to be supported stating that it helps to empower them in the discharge of their duties.
He has at the same time denied report that Health Workers in the County collect money from struggling patients before treating them.
Mr. Tokpah said it is the responsibility of Health Workers to treat Patients adding that no way that a Health worker to collect money from patients at Public facility.
He has pledged the commitment of the Bong County Health Team to working in the best interest of the County Citizens.
