As Ivory Coast struggle to battle with the deadly Coronavirus or COVID-19, fear has reportedly permeating amongst residents Liberia’s southeastern county of Grand Gedeh County as a result of the influx of people from Ivory Coast via the border between Liberia and the county with a single health worker to check the temperatures of those arriving.
A Correspondent of a local radio station, the OK FM speaking via mobile phone said it is scaring to note that the availability of health workers at the border between Liberia and Ivory Coast in the face of increased COVID-19 cases as Abidjan is currently under quarantine over the coronavirus residents of the county are said to be in fear of this latest development.
Gabriel Youty speaking further from the county also said the daily arrival of Liberians and other nationalities from Ivory Coast into Liberia may have a serious consequence on the lives of those residing in Grand Gedeh County and Liberia in general to battle with this deadly disease.
Youty said Liberia will be vulnerable to this virus as a result of the current influx of people from the Ivory Coast without thoroughly being checked by health workers who are said are yet to be assigned in the area for the prevention of the COVID-19.
Early this week, health authorities in Liberia announced additional three names of this virus making the number to six in Liberia.
