An Organization Aimed At Stabilizing, Maintaining Peace In Liberia Launched
An organization, People Uniting for Peace in Liberia (PUFIL) aimed at maintaining and stabilizing the peace of Liberia despite the silence of the guns for nearly 18 years after the war has been launched in Monrovia.
The founder, Attorney Asatu Bah Kenneth, a seasoned law enforcement practitioner and lawyer speaking at the launch last week, December 9, 2021 told the gathering during the launch of this organization said it is compelling to organize the peace group in order to help maintain peace in Liberia.
This organization which was launched at a local hotel in Monrovia brought together prominent Liberians, meanly women who were overwhelmed of the initiative of the founder to spearhead this process.
Attorney Bah-Kanneth said the group has been divided into five regions in the country with its coordinators covering Bong, Margibi and Grand Bassa Counties, and further noted that 60 persons have been trained across the country to begin the activities of the group.
Launching the group, the former president of the Stella Mais Polytechnic, Sister Mary Laurene Browne expressed delight that Liberians can come together in organizing themselves to help sustain the peace in Liberia.
