UBA Liberia staff who attended the International Women’s Day Celebration outside of Monrovia in Kakata, donated the books to the All-Girls Academy and the Lango Lippy High School.
Both Schools which have a strong historical root in Kakata, were excited to be identified by the UBA Foundation for such donation.
Both women explained the role of the UBA Foundation and how the foundation intends to spread the culture of reading on the African Continent.
They encouraged students of the both schools to focus on their studies and stay in school, as it is the surest way to success.
The both Principles Morris Farweneh of the Lango Lippy high School and Weedor Davis of the All Girls Academy thanked the UBA Foundation for the gesture.
According to them the books came just in time, as their schools are currently working to improve the Libraries for students.
The 2019 international Women’s Day was held under the Global theme: Think equal, build smart, innovate for change… with a local theme: Gender equality for innovative change.
The UBA women participation in the official celebration of International Women’s day and the donation of books forms part of a campaign to appreciate, promote and place a spotlight on the women of UBA Liberia thereby supporting UBA’s great place to work initiative.
UBA’s great place to work initiative is meant to ensure UBA staff feel safe, freely express themselves, and have equal opportunities and a fun place to work.
