LISCR FC has followed Barrack Young Controllers (BYC) out of the preliminary rounds of the CAF 2018/19 competition.

LISCR FC who finished as runner-up of the Liberia Football Association league last season, was eliminated Wednesday from the Caf Confederations Cup preliminaries at home by USM Bel Abbes of Algeria on a 4-1 goal aggregate.

Despite playing the match at home, LISCR could only manage a 1-0 win over USM Bel Abbes at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia..

The Liberian side having lost in the first leg 4-0, needed to score five goals plus a clean sheet to progress to round two of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminaries..

Though the Algerians struggled in the ATS heat, they managed to deny LISCR FC goal chances.

Sheku Sheriff scored the lone goal for LISCR FC in the 30th minute to give hope to the fans that had trooped to the ATS to watch the game.

But the second half failed to bring in further goals despite LISCR FC’s dominance in ball possession.

Speaking to reporters after the match, LISCR FC Coach Tappia Manneh said though he was disappointed with the result, he was impressed with his players’ performance.
