Johnetta Pinky Abu, the alleged murderer

Prosecution third witness in the murder case involving Johnnetta Pinky Abu, who allegedly stabbed her fiancé to death, Sergeant George Doe of the Liberia National Police on Wednesday testified that a knife was used to stab victim Morris Johnson.

Morris Johnson is former Coordinator of the Claims and Benefits Department at the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP).

According to Sergeant Doe, he and the defendant lived in the same building with the defendant living upstairs, while he occupies the apartment downstairs.

He indicated that during the incident at 2:00 a.m., he heard a knock on his door, and he went upstairs and met the deceased lying in a pool of blood, while the defendant’s hand was dripping blood as well.

He said he called a team of police officers who went and barricaded the crime scene, and noticed that a sliver knife with a green handle was found on the crime scene with blood all over it.

Sargent Doe is an investigator at the Liberia National Police, assigned at the Zone 5 Police Depot in Paynesville.

In their testimonies on Tuesday, December 4, prosecution first and second witnesses testified that defendant Johnnetta Pinky Abu stabbed Morris Johnson to death following a fist fight between them.

According to Cecelia Barclay and Naomi Barclay, on the night of the incident, they were asleep when the defendant and the deceased came from the night club drunk and started insulting each other.

They said after they were awakened by the noise, they tried to stop the two parties from fighting but did not succeed.

Prosecution’s two witnesses further stated that after trying to stop them, the defendant ran outside to call people, but no one came apart from the defendant’s play mother identified as Genève.

The two witnesses also said that after about a minute, they heard the deceased shouting “Oh Pinky juke me,” and he fell from upstairs with blood running from his back where he was allegedly stabbed by the defendant.

The witnesses also pointed out that blood was also running from the defendant’s hand.

According to the witnesses, a police car later came and the defendant and victim were picked up, but they did not know where the police took them until they heard that the deceased died upon arrival at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital.

Defendant Johnnetta Pinky Abu is currently undergoing trial at the Criminal Court “A” at the Temple of Justice.

During the reading of the indictment, the defendant pleaded not guilty thereby taking issue with the state.

It can be recalled that defendant Abu was accused of stabbing her fiancée Johnson with a kitchen knife at their SKD Sports Complex residence in Paynesville that later led to his death in June this year following an argument that Johnetta was in a love affair with another person to be identified.

She has been charged with murder and indicted by government of Liberia.

Meanwhile, the case continues tomorrow Thursday as prosecution produces more witnesses in the case.
