Saturday November 17, 2018, electoral violence occurred in the New Georgia Estate Area, district #13, Montserrado County where I was serving as the deputy Police Commander of the entire area.
The incident occur between partisans believe to be members and supporters of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) and partisan of the Unity Party, supporters of Mrs. Cornelia Kruah-Togba.
The incident was presumed perpetrated by the Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson Koijee and his militant from the party. The video clearly show Mayor Jefferson Koijee and his men parading the streets with weapons and cutlasses and throwing stones at the Unity Party campaign headquarters.
There were many people wounded in the incident and photos display on newspapers and social media.
The incident was widely condemned by local and international expert that were in Liberia at the time and called on the government to speedily investigate the matter and bring the perpetrator to justice.
The deputy Police Commander of Zone 4 Supt. (Major) Patrick Snorweah was called for investigation for being one of the officers present on the scene at the time of the campaign launch.
Supt. Patrick Snorweah and other officer tried to put the situation under control but to no avail because the honorable City Mayor Jefferson Koijee and his Sabu Unit over power the police and were in control.
When investigation was called, Supt. Patrick Snorweah was asked to commit perjury that the City Mayor Jefferson Koijee was never on the scene and was never part of the violence that occurred.
Supt. Patrick Snorweah was call in on Tuesday, November 20, to write an incident report on the situation and not to mention the name of Mayor Jefferson Koijee as principal perpetrated or to mention that he was on the scene.
As a professional Police Officer, ‘I insisted that I will not do it and if it will cost me my job, so be it but I will write what happen’.
‘I was relieved from my position as deputy Police Commander of Zone 4 on November 26, 2018 for refusal the admit to falsified information’.
From that time onward, he constantly received threating calls from private number on my life and that of my family.
