Over 200 Chambers Supporters Join Representative Williams’ “From Darkness to Development” Movement in Pleebo

Pleebo, Maryland County – July 24, 2025 – A significant shift in political and civic energy swept through Pleebo-Sodoken District on Thursday as over 200 former supporters of ex-House Speaker Dr. Bhofal Chambers publicly declared their allegiance to Representative Anthony F. Williams. This move coincided with the official launch of a new grassroots initiative, “From Darkness to Development.”

The launch event was marked by a lively parade through the streets of Pleebo, culminating in a packed indoor program at Pleebo City Hall. The gathering attracted a diverse audience of residents, stakeholders, and dignitaries from across the district. Mr. Wah T. Woart, the movement’s founder, described “From Darkness to Development” as a unifying platform dedicated to tangible progress and community-driven development.

“This movement isn’t born out of political bitterness or personal ambition, but from a collective awakening,” Woart proclaimed. “It’s time to support a leadership that has begun to deliver real change.”

Woart, who had previously supported Dr. Chambers throughout his 18-year tenure, voiced his disillusionment with the perceived lack of development under the former Speaker’s leadership. In stark contrast, he commended Representative Williams for what he termed a “remarkable transformation” of the district in just two years.

Among the key accomplishments attributed to Representative Williams were:

  • Rehabilitation of feeder roads
  • Opening of new access roads
  • Donation of two transport buses
  • Construction of a new market annex
  • Provision of an ambulance for the district

“These aren’t just signs of progress,” Woart stated, “they are symbols of a new vision—of a government that listens, acts, and delivers.”

The launch ceremony featured impassioned speeches from prominent community leaders, including Pleebo City Mayor Hon. Larry G. Geekor and Mr. Stanford Neufville, Home Office Coordinator for Representative Williams. Both underscored the vital importance of grassroots mobilization and pledged their full support for the new movement.

Neufville extended a warm welcome to the new members, promising a “cordial and productive working relationship that prioritizes the needs of the people.” Community members also expressed optimism about the district’s future trajectory, citing noticeable improvements in infrastructure and access to essential services.

During his keynote address, Mr. Woart introduced a parallel civic initiative titled “Eyes Open for Development.” This endeavor aims to promote transparency, accountability, and active citizen participation in governance.

“We must not return to the days when our roads were impassable, our youth unemployed, and our people forgotten,” Woart asserted. “We now stand at the threshold of real, lasting development—and we must protect it.”

He also acknowledged the past contributions of those who supported Dr. Chambers, recognizing their service while urging them to join this new cause for progress.

With its growing membership and robust community backing, “From Darkness to Development” is positioning itself not merely as a political realignment but as a significant civic awakening for Maryland County. As Representative Williams’ administration continues to roll out development projects, the new movement pledges to play a crucial role in mobilizing public support and ensuring that the gains made are sustained and expanded for the betterment of the district.
