Orange-Liberia Gives US$50k To Presidential Charity

(LINA) – Orange-Liberia has donated US$50,000 to the President George Weah Special Presidential Charity Program under the aegis of the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC).

The MCC headed by Mayor Jefferson Koijee organized the initiative to raise an amount of US$3.6 million to provide assistance to less fortunate Liberians across the country through the office of the President.

The donation by Orange-Liberia, which was made by its Chief Executive Officer Mamadou Coulibaly, at the Monrovia City Hall on Wednesday, was in fulfillment of a pledge made by the company at the official launch of the program by President Weah on April 18 in Monrovia.

Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Coulibaly said Orange-Liberia was grateful to MCC for providing his entity the opportunity to be a part of such history-making event, which seeks to help underprivileged Liberians.

He stressed the need for every well-meaning Liberian and foreign resident to contribute to such an important initiative that seeks to improve the livelihood of men and women who cannot afford.

He vowed to ensure that his institution remains devoted to making many more meaningful contributions to the Special Presidential Charity Program.

Receiving the donation, Mayor Koijee thanked the Orange-Liberia family for the gesture, and assured the company that monies raised will be used to address the challenges faced by vulnerable Liberians.

He avowed to ensure that transparency and accountability will be the hallmark of the initiative.
