LIBERIA: Supreme Court places stay order on suspension of LMA President, others

The Supreme Court of Liberia has placed a stay order on the suspension of the Liberia Marketing Association (LMA) President, Alice Yeabahn, and others with immediate effect.

The High Court’s action followed the suspension of the embattled President along with two officials by Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor on allegations of corruption, administrative mal-practices among others.

But the legal team of Vice President-Taylor to an appeal to the Supreme Court for redress.

According to ELBC’S Legislative Reporter, the Court’s latest action means all activities are to be halted until further notice.

Our Correspondent is also quoted as saying that all parties to the LMA crisis are cited to conference next Thursday, April 18, 2019,to determine further recourse into the matter..
