LIBERIA: Rep. Koffa Fulfills Promise Made To Storm victims in Grand Kru County

Grand Kru County Electoral District#2 Representative Jonathan Fonati Koffa as part of his numerous humanitarian supports to citizens in his district, has provided over two hundred thousand Liberian dollars to Storm victims in Barclayville City, Grand Kru County.

It can be recalled On April 26, 2020 more than 20 persons were rendered homeless as a result of a violent rainstorm destroyed several houses in Barclayville.

The victims of the violent storm told Grand Kru TV that the condition have shaped a complete setback for them; thereby calling on Grand Kru County Authorities and National government to intervene.

The storm took place on the night of April and affected communities such as Seedee Compound, Setor, Camp Three, Topoh, and Warkpeken.

Even though the tragedy occurred at a time where the Country is in serious crisis, the government’s intervention is needed at the moment if their lives should be saved.

Some victims of the unfortunate situation are widows and physically challenged people.

The recent violent Storm also destroyed the Police Support Unit Barrack in the area.

Making the disclosure Sunday’s August 23, 2020,  Chris Joboe said the over two hundred thousand Liberian dollars was the lawmaker own way of stretching hands to storm victims amid the Coronavirus pandemic in the country.

He explained that the money made available by Representative Koffa’s will be distributed amongst the Strom victims within Barclayville categories.

The storm victims lauded the Grand Kru County District#2 Representative for adhering to their Cries.

The Barclayville City storm victims said they were frustrated to see their houses being de-roofed at a time where they are struggling to provide a daily meal for their children.

The citizens said even though they have recognized the great efforts made by Representative Koffa’s, but are calling on Philanthropists or government to quickly intervene the situation, adding that it will be inappropriate for them victims of the disaster be sleeping together amid the spread of the deadly Coronavirus

“We are calling on any goodwill individual to come in quick to help us because if that is not done, it might result in something else,” the citizens concluded.
