A representative candidate of the opposition bloc for the Montserrado County District Number 15 by-election, Ms. Telia Urey was reportedly attached by supporters of her rival, Mr. Abu Kamara of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) smashing her vehicle..
Mr. Urey speaking in an interview with the GNN last night regarding this latest incident, expressed disappointment in the Liberia National Police, noting that it is troubling to see that the Police that should be protecting lives and properties is behaving complacent allowing the opposition to be along in such situation.
This latest incident brings to two the number of rioting in the district since the National Elections Commission (NEC) announced the holding of a re-run in the contested election at six polling prescient in the district following allegation of vote wrecking by the opposition collaborating parties comprising the All Liberian Party-ALP, the Unity Party, Alternative National Congress and the Liberty Party-LP; Ms. Urey’s vehicle was allegedly damaged by mob and was said to be in a house with people threatening to burn it down.
