LIBERIA: Man, 22 Dies From Lightning In Grand Bassa County

According to a local online TV, Ablee-Jay TV in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County a 22-year-old man identified as James Gbarteah recently died as a result of lightning Strike in the Gunnigar Town Community.

The corpse of the diseased was discovered on with burning mark on his trousers and part of his body, Sam Kpah, Zone leader the Community told reporters that the victim was strike by lightening.

Kpah said ” I was at my house when the community dwellers called me and told me that the lightening killed a boy identified as James Gbarteah “.

He furthered ” I quickly contacted the police and we all went on the scene . The 15 men jury was setup to establish whether there was something that went wrong but the team said he died from lightning strike. ”

The Zone leader stressed that the health team and the police worked together to ensure that the case of death was established. Meanwhile, a brother to the victim Abraham Briggs lamented that it is unbelievable that his brother died from lightning strike.

“I don’t believe that my brother died from lightning strike because his body didn’t get burn and for me , I have seen dead bodies of lightning strike, ” asking further, “ How will lightning strike someone without major burning marks,  but rather few spots ”.

Briggs said the government needs to investigate the actual cause of their brother’s death.
