BARCLAYVILLE – Grand Kru County Senator Numene T.H. Bartekwa has officially broken ground for the construction of a modern town hall in Dugbo, located within the Trehn Statutory District. This initiative marks a significant milestone for local infrastructure, providing residents with a dedicated venue for community events and official gatherings.

The project, which carries an estimated cost of US$87,000, was officially launched during a ceremony on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Speaking at the event, Senator Bartekwa explained that the decision to build the facility stemmed from extensive consultations with local residents who identified the lack of a meeting space as a primary concern. He emphasized that the completed town hall will resolve longstanding challenges regarding the hosting of joint community engagements, ultimately strengthening local governance and civic participation.

Senator Bartekwa further disclosed that the Dugbo Town Hall is a key component of a broader development agenda he is currently spearheading throughout Grand Kru County. His ongoing portfolio of projects includes the construction of a modern youth center in Behwah, Garraway Down Beach, and the building of schools in several surrounding communities. Additionally, the Senator announced plans to begin work on a new women’s center in Behwah in the near future.

According to the Senator, these various interventions are designed to empower local communities, promote social inclusion, and modernize the county’s social infrastructure.
