Accused subway bomber due in court today for arraignment
NEW YORK – The accused subway bomber in last month’s attack in Times Square will be arraigned in court Thursday.
Akayed Ullah was indicted Wednesday on terrorism and explosives charges.
He faces six counts related to the detonation of a bomb in a subway walkway near the Port Authority bus terminal.
U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman says “Ullah’s alleged purpose in the Port Authority bombing was painfully clear: to inflict as much damage as possible, and to strike fear into the hearts of New Yorkers in the name of ISIS.”
Ullah was the only person who was hurt in the attack.
