Police Arrests Seven in Connection to ERU Officer’s Death

The Liberia National Police says it has arrested and is investigating Seven (7) suspects for their involvement into an alleged Murder incident of an Emergency Response Unit (ERU) officer, James M. Gargu in Buchanan.

The alleged shooting incident took place on November 14, 2022 at 8: 30 PM where victim Gargu and Two Community Watch Forum (CWF) members, Jonathan Zeon and Archie Frazeih had gone to effect an arrest in Block-C, New Buchanan Community.

The LNP is investigating these suspects to establish circumstances under which its officer died gruesomely at the hands of mobbed actors, most of whom are said to be drug consumers.

Those suspects arrested on November 15, 2022 in Buchanan City are: Abba Bloebarga, 26, Abu Maiga, 30, Prince Harris, 27, Darius Vah, 17, Samuel Thomas, 26, Cyrus Bestman, 24 and Jerome Karr, 27.

During Police preliminary probe with the CWF officers, they informed the investigation that they (Responding Officers) were attacked by those drugs users.

The lifeless body of Officer Gargu was discovered in Peace Community, New Buchanan under the AML train track bridge on November 15, 2022 at 5: 30AM.

More efforts are being made in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County for more arrests of mobbed actors for prosecution.

Meanwhile, the remains of the late officer James Gargu has been deposited at Abraham Roberts Funeral home while the suspects are currently detained at Headquarters of the Liberia National Police pending further investigation and prosecution.

The family, friends and sympathizers of our deceased officer can be assured that justice will be served.
