Barely less than 72 Hours, EPS, LNP Officers Shoot Innocent Civilians To Death

Following the arrest of an Executive Protection Service (EPS) officer for shooting to death a civilian, only identified Valentine T. Johnson at the Police Academy Community in Paynesville outside Monrovia, another officer this time from the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) of the Liberia National Police reportedly shot and killed a civilian on  July 4, 2022 in New Kru Town, Bushrod Island.

According to the  Liberia National Police (LNP) has arrested and detained the culprit in the Police Academy shootout this morning along with the weapon used in the shooting incident.

A statement from the LNP said the gunman, who has been identified as Patrick Kollie, is an EPS officer assigned with Managing Director Bill Twehway of the National Port Authority.

In the shooting incident at the Police Academy junction in Paynesville this morning, one Valentine T. Johnson was allegedly shot and killed.

The LNP has urged the public to stay tuned for more details as the story unfolds.

According to the  Liberia National Police has with immediate effect disrobed and turned over one of its officers of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU), James Togba in connection to a shooting incident that occurred in the Fuel Oil Community, Point Four, Bushrod Island.

Late yesterday evening at 7 PM, the LNP administration received information of one of its Officers, James Togba being allegedly involved with a shooting incident which left one person, Olando Bloh, 37, a resident of New Kru Town dead.

The victim was taken at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead on arrival by doctor on duty.

The officer is presently detained at the headquarters of the Liberia National Police undergoing investigation.

The LNP administration has already reached out to the family of the deceased victim and extended its sympathy, assuring them that Justice will be served.

IG Sudue responding to reports of the shooting expressed dismay and vowed to ensure that the officer involved will be duly investigated and made to face the full weight of the law.
