U.S. Envoy Expresses Frustration Over The Act Of Endless Corruption In Liberia By Gov’t Officials

Appearing on the OK FM Liberia morning show Wednesday, April 28, 2022, the United States Ambassador to Liberia, Michael McCarty said despite acts of corruption everywhere, he is frustrated about the constant corruption allegedly being carryout by Liberian government officials.

Speaking further the U.S. Envoy re-echoes frustration over continuous power-theft in the country’s energy sector; wonders how will the sector survive in years ahead

The US Ambassador noted that he is worry about the operation of LEC in the coming years, if the necessary measures and program are not instituted by requisite Authority.

According Ambassador McCarthy, though the government of Liberia has tried in the past years to address issues of power theft, the lack of adequate funding has undermined the process.
