The Deputy Finance Minister for Fiscal Affairs has been nominated as distinguished recipient of the prestigious African Achievers Award in London and to Also serve as special guest and speaker.
Dr. Atty Samora P.Z. Wolokollie has been nominated as a recipient of the 11th edition of the African Achievers Award, under the theme ‘‘Excellence in Financial Administration Category,’’ in recognition of his sterling achievements in public service in the Republic of Liberia.
The award ceremony takes place at Kensington Palace, State House, London in the preview of distinguished global personalities.
Wolokollie will at the same time serve as Special Guest and Speaker at the 2021 African Achievers Awards/Colloquium on the 9th and 10th December, 2021.
The African Achievers Awards is one of Africa’s most prestigious awarding bodies which honors great African Achievers-including African Leaders, Young Achievers, Community Builders to Captains of Industries-whose works have had a meaningful impact on building the Africa of our dream.
The theme for this year’s ceremony is, ‘‘Initiating Diaspora Investment for a diversified African Economy.”
The awards ceremony over the years has become established as one of the biggest gatherings of influential and global African achievers on the continent and has been rated by Forbes Magazine as one of the most prestigious award ceremonies on the African continent.
Notable amongst those to have won this award include: Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma (former African Union Chairperson), H.E. Jakaya Kikwete (former President of the Republic of Tanzania), Dr. Josephine Ojiambo (Deputy Secretary-General of Commonwealth), Dr. Margaret Blick Kigozi, (university chancellor and sports woman), etc.
Dr. Wolokollie is being awarded at a time when Liberia, since decades of civil conflict, has increased its budget at around a record US$700 million.
