A high-power investment delegation from Nigeria and the United Kingdom recently arrived in the country in a bid to seek possible investment in Liberia, particularly in the oil and gas sector, and further held series successful meetings with key Liberian government officials including Vice President Chief Jewel Howard-Taylor and the Speaker of the Liberian House of Representatives, Dr. Bhofal Chambers.
The delegation which included Mr. Remi Ado, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SEAWORKS, Mr. Elder James Ovwie of Acknet International Incorporated, and an official of a UK based business establishment visit to Liberia was made possible by Professor Moses P. Roberts, Sr, Chief executive Officer of the Roberts Incubator of Liberia Incorporated.
During the meetings with officials of the Liberian Government, the investors in separate comments expressed interest in Liberia to invest in several sectors of the Liberian economy, noting that Liberia is a virgin for investment, and prepared to invest in Liberia in order to help in the growth and development of its economy.
The investors also expressed interest in investing in the country’s tourism sector, noting that Liberia is indeed a beautiful country, and its tourism sector must be developed in order to encourage tourists and possible investors, “This country is overly rich, and is blessed, we will be proud to venture in this process,” one of the visiting investors to officials of the Liberian Government.
In their separate statements, both the Liberian Vice President, Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor welcomed the delegation to Liberia, and expressed their hope for possible investment in Liberia, and assured the visiting investors of government’s support in their endeavor for possible investment.
For his part, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Bhofal Chambers in similar tone poured praises on the investors for their courage to venture in the Liberian economy, and expressed thanks and appreciation to the delegation for coming to Liberia.
