A Liberian Journalist, Swendsen Augustine Sokan of Voice of Sinoe has won the Student Unification Alliance (SUA) Chairmanship.
Journalist Soken who is now a student political activist at the William VS Tubman University became victorious when he captured the total votes of 95 while his opponent Micheal Boima obtained 69 votes.
On Saturday, April 17, 2021, the Student Unification Alliance Student Political Party holds its 5th Congress Anniversary that gave rise to Student Augustine Soken as the 6th chairman of the party.
Chairman Augustine Sokan in his remarks vowed to protect, defend and advocate for all students of Tubman university regardless of one background and affiliations at the University.
” I want to say in a very simple torn thanks for allowing me to serve you as chairman, everybody wins today and I must appreciate you again for entrusting in him to hold the gamble of authority, with total cooperation, coordination, collaboration, negotiation ad connection we will succeed”. Chairman Soken added
The New SUA chairman at the occasion admonished chairman emeritus number # 5, Joshua D. Musu, and the veteran bureau for their efforts in the party in keeping students together at Tubman University.
For his part Michael Boima, the opponent accepted the results and promised to share his dreams and expertise with the 6th chairman of SUA.
” I am grateful that long-awaited congress has come and ended, you the students, thanks for your support, and let accept the result to move our party forward”. Michael said.
Many students who spoke at the 5th congress in Pleebo and wrote on their Facebook pages in opposition party Political Leader Mouna Saa extended congratulations to Augustine Soken for his victory.
They however commended the elections body for their transparency and fair elections. They also expressed their gratitude to the outgoing leadership for always advocating on their behave.
Augustine Soken will stairs the affairs of the Party for the next year to come.
Augustine Soken has worked for the Voice of Sinoe in Greenville City, Sinoe County as News Director and currently contributing to Harper as Program Presenter in Maryland.
Augustine Soken is also a contributor to Local Voices Liberia In Monrovia.
SUA is a political student party accredited by the Administration of the William VS Tubman University to operate as a student political party.
