LIBERIA: More Firefighting Equipment To Arrive Soon In Liberia, Director Dickson Declares

The Director of the Liberia National Fire Service Col. Alex K. Dickson has announced the arrival of firefighting equipment worth over one hundred thousand United States Dollars. The equipment includes; boosts, anti-fire suits, firefighting facemasks among others.

The donation was made through the Prince Ibrahima and Isabella Freedom Foundation which is a Liberian owned organization based in Chicago headed by Dr. Artemus Gaye and his father, Borbor H. Gaye, who was a former Lonestar captain 1965 to 1975 and former deputy youth  sports minister. The equipment was channeled through Chicago Fire Department headed by Chief Richard C. Ford II and his deputy Annette Nance Holt.

Receiving the equipment in Liberia, Liberia Fire Service Chief Col. Alex K.Dickson lauded the Liberians foundation and the Chicago Fire Department for their support to Liberia and promised the use of the equipment in the fight against fire outbreak. Dickson promised to present the equipment to the Ministry of Justice before being used by the Liberia National Fire Service.

Last year, upon an official invitation from Liberians in Chicago, the United States of America, Col. Dickson held talks with a high powered delegation including the Richard C. Ford II head of Chicago fire department and his deputy soliciting support for the Liberia National Fire Service.
