The Liberia National Police (LNP) have disclosed that the man who allegedly shot and killed journalist Chris Davies with single barrel gun has been arrested with two others, but alleged that the journalist was killed for usually stealing his goat and selling same to a restaurant owner in Gbarnga, Bong County.
Addressing journalists today, November 3, 2020, in the present of the Inspector General of Police, Patrick Sudue, the Minister of Information, Lederhood Rinnie and the President of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL), Charles B. Coffey, Jr., Moses Carter said the alleged killer of the journalist; Henry Tucker was arrested in connection to the death of the journalist.He said Tucker was arrested alone with one Prince Garlawulo, a notorious armed robber who informed the police that he and the late journalist were usually in the business of stealing goats, and further admitted that on several occasions have been successful in stealing goats and selling them selling them to a businesswoman identified as Cheata Byrant, a restaurant owner.
Police Spokesman Carter explaining further said suspect Garlawolu told police investigators that he and diseased journalist visited the Tucker farm with the sole purpose of stealing goats as it is usually done, but fortunately the journalist was shot with a single barrel gun by Mr. Tucker.
Carter addressing the media said, suspect Henry Tucker admitted of shooting journalist Chris by unknown persons, and further added that on Thursday night, he saw two, and told investigators that his goats had always been stolen by g and identified men visited his farm to steal his goats, he said when the two unidentified men saw him they begin to run at this point he said, he fired his single barrel gun which he said led to the killing of the journalist.
For her part, the restaurant owner Madam Cheata Bryant also confirmed of usually buying goats from the journalist, but this time prior to the death of the journalist she did not do so, because she had earlier bought goats from elsewhere.
Meanwhile, Carter disclosed that those arrested including Henry Tucker, Prince Garlawolu and Cheata Bryant are still under police custody and are also undergoing further police investigation.
