LIBERIA: Woman 45, Arrested In Ganta For Illegal Possession Of Narcotic

Melvina Hawa Roberts was apprehended by the LDEA on Thursday, October 22

The Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency Nimba Detachment under the Command of Col. Jeremiah W. Neapaye has arrested and forwarded to court, a 45 year- old Liberian woman.

Melvina Hawa Roberts, was apprehended by the LDEA on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the Ganta Immigration Checkpoint while on her way to Monrovia.

She is said to be a resident of Rehab and Old Road Communities in Monrovia.

According to the LDEA charge sheet, Melvina Hawa Roberts was caught for being in possession of five plates of Marijuana.

The estimated street value of the drug is put at $1,000 United States Dollars.

Mrs. Roberts was charged with crime of unlicensed possession of Narcotic Drugs in line with the Drugs law, section 14.107.

She is married to a man identified as Melvin Roberts.

The suspect has since been forwarded to the Ganta Magisterial Court awaiting trial.
