President Trump sent a few tweets Tuesday morning in response to the news of American families that were killed in northern Mexico at the hands of cartel members.

Rhonita Maria LeBaron, her 6-month-old twin babies, and two other children were killed during an ambush in the Mexican state of Sonora on Monday. Other victims included Christina Langford Johnson, Dawna Langford and two of her children.

Some children were able to escape and hide by the side of the road.

“If Mexico needs or requests help in cleaning out these […] monsters, the United States stands ready, willing & able to get involved and do the job quickly and effectively,” Trump tweeted, adding that it is time for the U.S. and Mexico “to wage WAR on the drug cartels and wipe them off the face of the earth.”
