As ECOWAS Call For One Currency ‘ECO’, Liberia’s CDC-Led Gov’t Introduces New Banknote

As Liberia and three other ECOWAS countries asked for a relax of the introduction  of ‘ECO’ a new currency for the region, the Liberian government has initiated the release of a new Liberian bank note to be released shortly on the Liberian market.

Posted on the Face Book Wall of a leading member of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) led government, Representative Acarous Moses Gray, at the amazement of many Liberians including foreign residents, Representative Gray  justifying this latest development on the part of this government said, “This is not the regime of Ellen and Boakai where new bank notes were printed without legislative approval . This is a very cheap falsification,” Representative Gray bragged.

The questions that flip the lips of Liberians who spoke to the GNN wondered as to why now?
