GBARNGA, June 10 (LINA) – The Ninth Judicial Circuit Court in Gbarnga, Bong County has charged a 28 year-old man identified as Justice Sulon Mulbah with murder for allegedly killing his 22 year-old girlfriend identified as Hawa Gboloko.
Mulbah was charged with “murder” on Friday, June 7, and incarcerated at the Gbarnga Central Prison awaiting court trial.
Addressing a team of journalists Saturday, Bong County Police Investigator John Kelleson Flomo explained that Mulbah on Wednesday, June 5, killed his girlfriend on a farm road located seven kilometres from Sanoyea Town while she was on her way from the farm to Jorkpah Town.
According to the Police Investigator, Mulbah allegedly strangulated his 22 year-old girlfriend to death on grounds that she was engaged in another love affair.
According to Mr. Flomo, a 15-man jury was set to conduct an inspection on the body of the late Hawa.
He disclosed that the jury reported that the lady was stabbed thrice in the back, her neck broken and tied with a piece of cloth and the body dumped into a swamp in the area.
Flomo further explained that when Mulbah committed the act, he requested a five year-old boy (name not mentioned) to take their two-week old baby girl to their grandmother in Jorkpah Town.
He said Mulbah later fled the scene and jumped into the bush when he heard that a group of angry citizens were in search of him, but he was later arrested.
Speaking to journalist on Saturday, murder suspect Mulbah admitted to commission of the crime, but said he was tempted by his girlfriend Hawa.
Mulbah explained that he met the late Hawa three years ago when she still had a toddler and began supporting her until she conceived for him and had a girl child two weeks ago.
Suspect Mulbah regretted his action and called on his fellow youths to avoid temptation and always seek legal means as the best solution to problems they encounter.
“My future has spoiled because of my action, I regret my action, but it was a temptation,” he stressed.
