NEW YORK – The City Council will hold its first hearing Wednesday on the Amazon deal.
A protest is planned at City Hall before it gets underway at 9 a.m.
During the hearing, the council’s economic development committee will take an overall look at the plan to bring a new Amazon headquarters to Long Island City.
The deal is expected to bring in at least 25,000 jobs.
Two more hearings will follow, where the finance committee will look into the billions of dollars in subsidies promised to the company.
The deal’s impact on housing, transportation and infrastructure will also be assessed.
