The Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency Bong County Detachment has arrested a 56 year old man Jerald George with 15 kilograms of marijuana in Gbarnga Bong County.
The streets value of the drugs is placed at little over 1,500,000 Liberian Dollars.
Speaking to Journalists following the arrest of Jerald George in Gbarnga on Tuesday November 27, the LDEA Bong county Detachment Commander Alex Toweh narrated that the arrest of the allegeddrugs trafficker was made at the Gbarnga Phebe Parking.
Alex Toweh said Jerald was arrested through the efforts of his Chief of Operations and other agents of LDEA they were able to arrest Jerald George for Drugs trafficking in Bong County.
According to report, the suspect will be investigated in 48hours and subsequently forwarded to court for prosecution.
He at the same time used the medium to appeal to citizens of Bong County to provide information in order to have a Drugs free society.
According to reliable source suspect Jerald George who is a resident of the Phebe Parking area in Gbarnga has been engaged with the sale of drugs for several years in the County.
In a related development, Commander Toweh also stated that members of the Drivers Union in Bong County yesterday vandalized the LDEA Office in Gbarnga, on grounds that they aided the Liberia National Police to restore calm in Totota and Gbarnga.
It can be recalled that members of the Drivers Union on November 26, staged a violence protest in order to claim the government attention to address their concerns.
He recited that Drivers of the Union took away several valuable items including one HP Laptop computer, five wooden Chairs, one mobile radio, and three techno phones along with huge quantities of drugs among others.
Mr. Toweh revealed that one of the protesting drivers linked to the violence act has been arrested and placed behind bar waiting court trail.
