Latest in Raqqa: 100 civilians rescued

Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters conduct special operations to rescue civilians trapped in Raqqa city center and used as human shields by ISIS.

Today, SDF special units rescued 100 civilians, most of them women and children, in Nehda and Berid neighborhoods.

As clashes continue in the Raqqa city center, SDF special units continue with operations to rescue civilians.

The operation to liberate Raqqa launched by the SDF on June 6 continues on its fourth month.

Most of the Raqqa city center has come under SDF control. SDF sources say the operation is now drawing to a close.
