Car drags police officer in Queens, NYPD says

By NY1 News

A police officer was hospitalized early Saturday morning after a car dragged him in Queens, the NYPD said.

It happened around 1:50 a.m. at North Conduit Ave. and Guy R Brewer Boulevard in Rochdale.

Police said the officer had pulled over the driver of a white Nissan Altima for a traffic violation.

When the officer approached the car, the driver sped off and dragged him for about 150 to 200 feet, according to officials.

Police believe his arm may have gotten caught on something on the car. He suffered cuts to his arms and hands, and was taken to Long Island Jewish Hospital.

The car was found less than a mile away, and the driver remains on the loose, according to the city police department.
