The Interpol Division of the Liberia National Police (LNP) has arrested a 27-year-old Nigerien man for allegedly murdering his friend in Takoradi, Ghana on April 30.
Suspect Yakouba Ide was on Wednesday turned over to Ghanaian authorities, who dispatched two agents to Liberia to take charge of the suspect and escort him to Ghana where the incident occurred for further investigation.
Suspect Yakouba Ide, was on May 2 arrested in Harper, Maryland County based on information received that he had murdered his friend in Takoradi, Ghana and fled to Liberia.
According to Commissioner Charles B. Blake of the Crime Services Department (CSD)/Criminal Investigation Department (CID), information was given by the NBC/Ghana, based upon which officers of the Interpol Division were able to arrest the suspect.
“We deal with criminal matters, no criminal goes with impunity because the world is a global village,” Blake said.
Suspect Ide is expected to stand trial in Ghana.
