Despite of the onslaught on the reputation of some presidential aspirants by the ‘Code of Conduct’ and ‘Dual Citizenship’ in a bid to publicly and disgracefully denial some presidential aspirants in the pending October 10, 2017 presidential elections, one of those would-be victims caught in this fray is reportedly gathering lots of supporters for his presidential bid.
According to a GNN-Liberia survey conducted in some parts of the Country, mainly in the southeast and western Liberia, the Standard Bearer of the Alternative National Congress (ANC), retired Coca-Cola Africa executive, Alexander Benedict Cummings is said to be the talk of the town in area covered during the past weeks.
Our Correspondents in some major cities of the Country speaking further via mobile phone said, “Many of those we were able to talk to, named the political leader of the ANC as their preferred choice for the upcoming presidential elections, noting that he is the one who seems to have cleaned hands; free of corruption and other ills in the Liberian society,” our Correspondents speaking via mobile phone further said.
Other reports from western Liberia also confirmed that the ANC boss is also winning support in that part of the Country, despite of supporters of Vice President, Joseph N. Boakai bid doing everything in their powers to win more support for their candidate.
“Since his last visit in the southeast, the talk about of Mr. Cummings continue to be more overwhelming, as many are saying they prefer to be in his camp then the other candidates who they said have made promises over and over with no results. For me and my entire family we will be behind the ANC political leader be it rain or shine,” Nathaniel Kou of Pleebo, Maryland County speaking to our reporter in that part of the Country said.
“We heard the Government trying to use the Code of Conduct to frustrate many candidates, but for us we will stand behind our candidate who is Mr. Alexander B. Cummings, nothing will stop us or discourage us in this regard,” Esther Toe, a resident of Fish Town, River Gee told our reporter in a chat.
