
Three opposition political parties, the Alternative National Congress (ANC) of Alexander B. Cummings, the United People’s Party (UPP) of businessman MacDonald Wanto and the Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE) of Dr. Joseph Mills Jones are said to be having series of discussions for possible collaboration in their bid for to capture the pending 2017 general and presidential elections.
According to informed sources closed to these three opposition political parties, the political leaders of parties concerned have agreed to come together in forming a strong united front in order to sweep votes in the upcoming elections, adding, “It is about time that we come together in a bid to vote out of office the ruling Unity Party (UP) of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf,” one of the stalwarts of the ANC who confided in the GNN-Liberia today noted.
Some political observers who spoke to the GNN-Liberia said they welcomed the decision by the political leaders of these parties, stressing, “The decision reached by these political parties should be considered as timely”, another political observer who spoke on the issue in an exclusive interview with the GNN said.
