According to Police spokesman Sam Collins, suspect Joseph Sonpon, who claimed to be the leader of robbers, was arrested on Monday, January 23, after stealing from a bakery on UN Drive in Monrovia.
The money exchanger was attacked by Sonpon and his cohorts at his residence on 11th Street in Sinkor in December 2016.
Disclosing this on UNMIL Radio Tuesday, the police spokesman said Sonpon entered the bakery as a costumer and then put all of the workers under gunpoint and took away their money.
He stated that it was through the help of the video camera in the bakery that the police obtained photos that enabled them to get the suspect arrested.
Collins added that the suspect has admitted that he was responsible for the robbing of the bakery on UN Drive and the killing of the money exchanger last year in Sinkor.
He added that the suspect said he has been the leader of robbers in central Monrovia for a period now.
