Trump’s transition team announced Thursday that Giuliani will provide his team with insight on “private sector cyber security problems and emerging solutions”.
A staunch Trump supporter, the former mayor has led his own security consulting firm, and worked on cyber security for a major law firm since leaving City Hall.
Trump also announced an upcoming series of meetings with corporate executives from companies that have faced cyber security issues.
Cyber security has been a sensitive topic for Trump since allegations that members of his inner circle colluded with Russian hackers to influence the outcome of the election.
On Wednesday, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper released a statement saying no judgement has been made about the authenticity of recently published documents purporting to show a connection between Trump and the Russian government.
